Ethanol is a High-Octane fuel that has replaced lead as an octane enhancer in petrol. It is often used as an adjunct fuel to petrol in order to help reduce emissions in motor vehicles. It is used as solvent, in the synthesis of other organic chemicals and as an additive to automotive gasoline.
Fuel Ethanol – 99.99% purity dispatched with denatured characteristics
formally nomenclated in Brazil as E95 and In India E20.
Uses for ENA are versatile- ENA can be used in some lacquers, paints and ink for the printing industry, as well as in pharmaceutical products such as antiseptics, drugs, syrups, medicated syrups and is also the primary raw material for making alcoholic beverages.
Advantages of Grain based ENA over Sugarcane based ENA –
molasses.
Dried Distiller’s Grains and Solubles (DDGS) is another product PRO sells.
DDGS Process –
Distiller's dried grains with soluble are the dried residue remaining after the starch fraction of corn. It is fermented with selected yeasts and enzymes to produce ethanol and carbon dioxide.
The alcohol is removed by distillation leaving whole stillage with solids which is further
centrifuged into wet cake. It is the wet cake, recirculated DDGS and syrup mixture from evaporation that undergoes a drying process to produce the final high protein animal feed: DDGS.
Advantages –
Content | DDGS | Soyabean DOC |
Moisture | 10% | 12% |
Protein | 34% | 46% |
Crude Fiber | 13% | 6.50% |
Pharma grade ethanol is high purity alcohol with stringent specifications. It is used in a variety of manufacturing processes in the pharmaceutical industry like sanitizers, topical disinfectants, solvents, and preservatives in pharmaceutical preparation and many other pharmaceutical applications. 96.0-96.6 % purity. Grades available from PRO are – EP grade (European Pharmacopoeia), BP grade (British Pharmacopoeia) and IP grade (India Pharmacopoeia)
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable and slightly acidic liquefied gas. CO2 is heavier than air and soluble in water. The pressure of about 20 bar gauge and a temperature of about – 20°C. The final CO2 product is as a food grade liquefied gas of more than 99.99% purity, suitable for the beverage and brewery industries.
