Advantages of DDGS

DDGS is concentrated protein, with about three times the protein content of the grain that was processed. The DDGS contains a significant amount of valuable yeast protein. This high-protein feed is known to increase efficiency and lower the risk of subacute acidosis in animals. Hence, DDGS is mainly used as animal feed in the cattle, poultry, swine, and fisheries/aquaculture industries. It is known to be a good source of protein, calcium, phosphorus, and sulfur, which are beneficial for the environment and animal health.

In addition to its use as animal feed, DDGS has also been used for other industrial applications, e.g., biodiesel, fiber sources, and fertilizer. DDGS contains a high amount of fibers, residual starch, and nutrient value compared to Soya DOC also DDGS is cost-effective than Soya DOC. Hence Soya can be replaced by DDGS. According to the report by the USDA's Economic Research Service (ERS), "Findings demonstrate that in aggregate (including major types of livestock/poultry), a metric ton of DDGS can replace, on average, 1.22 metric tons of feed consisting of corn and soybean meal in the United States."
