Denatured Alcohol

Denatured Alcohol, also known as methylated spirits, is a highly functional and cost-effective alternative to pure ethanol for various industrial and household applications. It's a 94.5% - 95.5% pure ethanol solution that has been modified with specific additives to render it unfit for human consumption.

Here's what makes Denatured Alcohol a valuable choice:

Multipurpose Functionality: Denatured Alcohol performs many of the same tasks as ethanol, making it a versatile product for various industries.

Fuel Source: It's a clean-burning fuel ideal for camping stoves, laboratory burners, and even some indoor/outdoor heaters.

Industrial Applications: Denatured Alcohol plays a vital role in the production of various items like textiles, dyes, inks, and even specific chemicals.

Cleaning Powerhouse: It's an effective solvent for cleaning lacquers, paints, and varnishes. Surprisingly, you'll also find it in some cosmetics as a key ingredient in toners and makeup brush cleaners.

Disinfecting Properties: Denatured Alcohol can be used as a disinfectant for surfaces, a window cleaner, and even a sterilant for some medical equipment (always check recommended use for such applications).

Important Note: Due to the additives, Denatured Alcohol has a distinct odor and should not be used for purposes where a pleasant scent is desired.

Applications (Not exhaustive):

Fuel for camping stoves and burners

Thinner for paints, lacquers, and varnishes

Ingredient in cosmetics (toners, makeup brush cleaners)
